Masimo SET, LNCS, M-LNCS, RD SET and rainbow
Masimo SET is Masimo's pulse oximetry technology, and the sensor families differ mainly by connector. LNCS sensors have a 9-pin plug for LNC patient cables; M-LNCS sensors have a 15-pin plug for M-LNC or rainbow RC cables; RD SET sensors use RD patient cables, or LNC cables through the 4105 RD to LNC adapter. rainbow sensors add SpCO (carboxyhemoglobin) and SpMet (methemoglobin) to SpO2 on monitors equipped for them.
How to pick a Masimo sensor
- Patient weight: each sensor lists its range, such as adult (over 30 kg) or pediatric (10 to 50 kg).
- Adhesive or reusable: adhesive sensors are single-patient use and boxed; reusable sensors are sold individually.
- Connector: match the sensor to the patient cable you already use.
- Length: sensor leads run 18 in or 3 ft; patient cables run 1 ft to 14 ft.
Masimo parts by monitor
The right sensor and cable depend on your monitor's SpO2 connector. Start from your monitor: LIFEPAK 15 and 35, LIFEPAK 20e, 20 and 12, Zoll X Series and Propaq MD, Philips Tempus Pro and IntelliVue or Rad-57. Have a Stryker or Zoll part number? Use the Masimo part number cross-reference.
Masimo ear sensors
For adults over 30 kg. LNCS: 1895 TC-I ear clip and 2918 E1 disposable ear sensor (box of 10). M-LNCS: 2503 TC-I reusable ear sensor and 2919 E1 disposable ear sensor (box of 10). RD SET: 4015 E1 ear adhesive sensor (box of 10) and the 4053 TC-I ear clip.
Masimo forehead sensors
3858 LNCS TFA-1 forehead sensor for patients over 10 kg (box of 10), 4055 RD SET reusable forehead sensor for adults over 30 kg, and the 1608 headband for TF-I forehead sensors.
Masimo direct-connect sensors
These reusable SpO2 sensors plug straight into the monitor with no patient cable. Masimo's Rad-57 manual lists the 2053 Red DCI-dc3 (adult, 3 ft) and 2256 Red DCIP-dc3 (pediatric, 3 ft). Stryker's LIFEPAK 15 guide and Zoll's X Series list include those two and the 2644 Red DBI-dc8 (adult soft, 8 ft).
