Masimo rainbow Sensors (SpO2, SpCO, SpMet)
About Masimo rainbow Sensors (SpO2, SpCO, SpMet)
Masimo rainbow sensors measure SpCO (carboxyhemoglobin) and SpMet (methemoglobin) along with SpO2, pulse rate and perfusion index, using Masimo rainbow Pulse CO-Oximetry. Pacific Biomedical stocks rainbow sensors for EMS agencies, fire departments, alternate care sites and flight teams. Authorized Masimo Distributor (USA). Need a rainbow cable? See Masimo patient cables.
Adhesive, reusable or direct connect
rainbow adhesive sensors are single-patient use and come 10 to a box: R25-L for neonates under 3 kg or adults over 30 kg, R20-L for infants 3 to 30 kg, R25 for adults over 30 kg and R20 for children 10 to 50 kg. Reusable rainbow sensors are sold individually: the DCI adult and DCIP pediatric sensors and the LNCS-II rainbow DCI and DCIP. Direct-connect rainbow sensors, the 2201 (adult, 3 ft), 2069 (pediatric, 3 ft) and 2407 (adult, 8 ft), plug straight into the monitor. The RD rainbow line adds the 4037 Neo SpCO adhesive sensor, 10 to a box.
Which cable rainbow sensors use
rainbow sensors connect through rainbow RC patient cables such as the 2406 RC-4 (4 ft), 2404 RC-12 (12 ft) and 4481 RC-4 EMS. RD rainbow sensors use RD rainbow SET cables such as the 4072 MD20-05. Masimo's Rad-57 manual pairs rainbow sensors with rainbow RC cables, and a Rad-57 reads SpCO or SpMet only when it is configured with those parameters.

What do Masimo SpCO and SpMet measure?
SpCO is noninvasive carboxyhemoglobin, used to screen for carbon monoxide exposure. SpMet is noninvasive methemoglobin. rainbow sensors report both along with SpO2.
Which monitors read SpCO and SpMet from rainbow sensors?
Monitors equipped with Masimo rainbow parameters. The Rad-57 kits 3734 and 3735 measure SpCO, the 3737 measures SpMet and the 3736 measures both, and Stryker's LIFEPAK 15 accessories guide lists rainbow sensors for SpO2, SpCO and SpMet. Confirm your monitor has the parameter before ordering.
Which cable does a Masimo rainbow sensor need?
A rainbow RC patient cable, such as the 2406 RC-4 or 4481 RC-4 EMS. RD rainbow sensors use RD rainbow SET cables such as the 4072, and the direct-connect rainbow sensors (2201, 2069 and 2407) need no patient cable.
Can our department order Masimo sensors on a purchase order?
