1000 mL ENFit Enteral Drainage Bag (MPN DBISO-1000)

The GBUK DBISO-1000 1000 mL ENFit enteral drainage bag is a sterile, single-use EVA bag for the passive drainage of gastric fluid from feeding or drainage tubes fitted with ENFit (ISO 80369-3) connectors.1 It is DEHP and latex free, printed with volume graduations, and supplied 20 per box.2 The 1000 mL bag with 50 cm inlet tubing is the largest sterile EVA size, for higher-output adult passive gastric drainage with fewer emptying interruptions.

Product Highlights:

  • ENFit connection: The proximal ENFit connector twists onto the patient's ENFit feeding or drainage tube for a secure, locking connection.1
  • Capacity: 1000 mL with printed measuring graduations for charting gastric output.1
  • Sterile EVA: Soft, pliable EVA bag sterilized with ethylene oxide, with an air venting valve and a 3-year shelf life.13
  • Tubing: 50 cm (about 20 in) long inlet tubing24.
  • Empty without disconnecting: Open the capped distal end to empty the bag while it stays connected to the tube.1
  • DEHP and latex free: Single-use, DEHP free and latex free.1

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is this drainage bag compatible with ENFit feeding tubes?

Yes. The DBISO-1000 has an ENFit connector built to ISO 80369-3 and is designed to be used only with feeding or drainage tubes fitted with ENFit connectors.1 Do not use it with legacy (non-ENFit) tubes.

What is the difference between the EVA and PVC drainage bags?

GBUK's EVA bags (DBISO) are sterile, made from a softer and more pliable film, include an air venting valve, and come 20 per box in 50 to 1000 mL. The PVC bags (DBP) are supplied non-sterile, are the economical choice, and come 50 per box (or 20 per box for the bed-hanger HT versions) in larger sizes up to 1500 mL on this store.263 Both are DEHP and latex free and are single use.1

Is the bag sterile?

Yes. GBUK EVA drainage bags are sterilized with ethylene oxide and labeled sterile. Do not use if the pouch is damaged.13

How long is the tubing?

The DBISO-1000 has 50 cm (about 20 in) of inlet tubing between the ENFit connector and the bag, so the bag can hang below stomach level away from the patient.4 The distal end is a funnel-end outlet with cap for emptying.

How many bags come in a box, and what is the GTIN?

Each box holds 20 bags and is sold by the box. The box GTIN is 05060460843673, and a GBUK case holds 4 boxes (80 bags).5

Is a prescription required?

No federal prescription is required. The FDA GUDID record lists this device as neither prescription-only (Rx: No) nor over-the-counter (OTC: No), and GBUK states it is intended for use by a trained healthcare professional.51 Any account or order review at checkout is Pacific Biomedical policy for professional medical supplies, not an FDA Rx-only requirement.

How should the drainage bag be used and emptied?

Close the cap on the distal end, attach the ENFit connector to the tube, and hang or place the bag below the patient's stomach so contents drain by gravity. Empty it every 4 to 8 hours, or sooner if it nears capacity, by opening the distal end. The bag does not need to be disconnected to empty. Check that the tubing is not kinked or the bag squashed.1

Can the bag be reused, used for re-feeding, or used for emergency decompression?

No. It is single use and should be discarded once disconnected from the tube. GBUK states it must not be used for re-feeding, and it is not intended for high-volume decompression in emergencies or for viscous fluids other than gastric secretions.1

How do I order in bulk or by purchase order?

Add boxes to your cart on this page, or contact CustomerService@pacificbiomedical.com or 844.436.3526 for case quantities, facility pricing, or a purchase order.

Are these bags HSA eligible?

Yes. GBUK ENFit enteral drainage bags are HSA-eligible medical supplies. Eligibility can still depend on your plan administrator; keep your receipt.
