How do I know whether I have the enhanced case or the original?
Look at the closure. The enhanced case uses a metal clasp and holds the external battery with a Velcro loop. The original case uses MOLLE webbing.
Will this bundle work on my older ICE 2L?
No. Delta lists the enhanced case bundle as not compatible with the original case design. Original case coolers use the MOLLE bundle, Delta PN A-001730/B.1
How much runtime does the external battery add?
Up to 4 days beyond the internal battery, which runs the electronics for up to 24 hours on its own.12
Does the external battery keep the blood cold?
No. The conditioned temperature control insert does the cooling. The batteries power the electronics, which keep logging, the display and alerts running.

No. The ICE 2L cooler part numbers stayed the same. Only the external battery bundle changed, because the mount changed.
What happens to temperature records if the battery runs out?
The cooler keeps 3 days of temperature records in internal memory even after the battery loses its charge.3
