Linear Health Sciences Orchid Safety Release Valve, 100/Box

The Orchid Safety Release Valve (SRV) from Linear Health Sciences is a tension-activated, single-use accessory that installs in-line between the IV administration set and IV extension set. When excessive tension acts on the line, the device separates into two halves and automatically closes the flow path in both directions - protecting the patient's IV access and preventing leakage. Supplied sterile, 100 per case.

Intended Use

The Orchid SRV is a tension-activated accessory placed in-line with an IV administration set and IV extension set. It provides a quick-separation feature that closes the flow path on tension events, reducing the risk of IV catheter failure and the need for IV catheter replacement.

Indications for Use

For single patient use between the existing IV administration set and IV extension set connection. Indicated for use with electronic IV pumps in IV catheter applications where tension may act on the IV tubing. For use with patients 2 weeks of age and older during intermittent and continuous infusion.

Not for non-intravenous fluid administration. Not for use with feeding tubes, drains, or other non-IV tubing. Not for withdrawing blood or fluids. Not for intra-arterial use. Not for use with power injection or high-pressure infusion systems. Not for use with umbilical vessel catheters. Not for use under 2 weeks of age. Not for use during transfusion of biologics.
