The mamaRoo 5-Point Seat Harness Strap is the genuine 4moms replacement harness for the mamaRoo multi-motion baby swing, Model 1046 (CHS USA item 2001076, SKU CHS-2001076). It is one complete grey webbing assembly, sold each: two shoulder straps, two waist straps, one crotch strap, the center buckle, the slide adjusters and the anchor tabs, ready to thread into the Model 1046 seat. The restraint runs as a 3-point harness until baby can sit up unassisted, then converts to 5-point. It fits Model 1046 only; the model number is on the bottom of the unit. Use and Care Rules for the Model 1046 Harness
The Model 1046 restraint is used on every ride and adjusted to fit snugly. It can be configured as a 3-point or a 5-point harness; a baby riding in the 3-point configuration moves to the 5-point harness when they can sit up unassisted.1
The seat stays fully reclined until the infant is at least 4 months old and can hold up their head without help. Use of the swing ends when baby reaches 25 lb (11.3 kg) or attempts to climb out, at about 9 months, whichever comes first. A new harness does not extend these limits.1,2
Only 4moms-approved replacement parts go on the swing, and parts are never substituted. Connections are inspected periodically for secure fastening, wear and damage, and the swing comes out of service on any damage or problem. Strap threading and adjustment for both configurations are illustrated in the Model 1046 instruction manual on the pages titled Adjusting the Straps and 3-Point Harness / 5-Point Harness.1 There is no separate wash step for the harness: the fabric seat and toy balls are machine washable (cold, gentle cycle, no bleach, tumble dry low), while the base and the metal and plastic seat parts are wiped with a mild cleaning solution and a soft damp cloth and never immersed.1,3
The August 15, 2022 CPSC recall covers only mamaRoo models that use a 3-point harness: versions 1.0 and 2.0 (model 4M-005), version 3.0 (model 1026) and version 4.0 (model 1037). The mamaRoo model that uses a 5-point harness is not included. The hazard was straps dangling below an unoccupied seat, and the remedy for recalled units is a free strap fastener.4
4moms is now part of the UPPAbaby family; UPPAbaby closed its purchase of the 4moms product line in July 2024, and support for 4moms products runs through UPPAbaby.5,6 The 4moms warranty runs twelve months from the date of purchase for the original purchaser, covers repair or replacement of the unit, parts or assemblies, applies only to product bought from a 4moms authorized retailer or distributor, and does not apply to used product.1,7
