Slide the Firefly into a cover, seal the adhesive edge and use the light as usual under the IV site. Remove and discard the cover after the patient, then wipe the light with common hospital wipes as Firefly directs.12
Covers are non-sterile. For a sterile field, such as NICU PICC placement, Firefly describes fitting the small wireless light into a sterile glove.3 Follow your facility infection prevention policy.
