The RightSpot pH Small Bore Indicator from RightBio Metrics confirms nasogastric (NG) or orogastric (OG) feeding tube placement for small-bore tubes, 10 Fr and smaller, the fine tubes common in neonatal, pediatric, and adult feeding. Draw a small amount of gastric fluid into the sealed single-use device, and the internal strip changes color in seconds. A reading of 5.5 or below confirms gastric placement. Why the Small Bore version

What size tubes is the Small Bore version for?

What pH confirms the tube is in the stomach?
A gastric aspirate pH of 5.5 or below (the UK NPSA and ASPEN range is 1 to 5.5). Read the value on the device key and follow the device IFU and your facility's policy. A pH of 6.0 or higher warrants further investigation.
